Ways of Healing Chakras with Music

When chakras become unbalanced or blocked, there are many ways in which they can be rebalanced and unblocked to allow healing to take place. Healing chakras with music is one of the most enjoyable and fulfilling ways to do this. When one or more of your chakras are blocked, a person may experience a range of troubling negative symptoms, including physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual issues. This is sometimes referred to as the chakras being out of alignment, blocked, or congested. What this essentially means is that the life force energy, or chi, cannot flow through the body. Healing chakras with music is a way to help restore the flow of energy and bring everything into alignment.

Healing Chakras with Music Therapy

Music therapy and sound healing rely on how expressing ourselves musically and listening to music has such a profound effect on us all. We all have music that conjured up memories for us, the music we listen to when we feel a certain way. You might find yourself putting a particular type of music on to cheer yourself up or calm yourself down. Music can slow us down or speed us up. Healing chakras with music is not dissimilar to how we naturally use music to help us feel good, even though we might not actively realize we are attempting to heal ourselves. We respond to music emotionally rather than logically, and this makes it an excellent way to engage with our emotional and spiritual selves.

Historical Healing

People have been using music as a powerful healing tool since early in human evolution. We know from the historical record that people in prehistory often sacrificed their precious time and resources in order to create musical instruments. Music was an important part of ceremonies. Throughout written history, we find references to music being used as a powerful force. The ancient Greeks believed music could heal sickness. Music therapy is an important part of care in the modern medical world, especially when working with patients suffering from mental ill-health.

Chakras, Colors, and Vibrations

Each of our chakras is associated with a different color, and each vibrates at its own unique frequency. Healing chakras with music relies on correlating notes with the frequency of the chakras. This is believed to energize and clear the energy centers, increasing the flow of energy and bringing balance and alignment to the energetic body. While some practitioners have their own methods of ascertaining the precise frequency of sound that should be used for each chakra, as a general guide, the various energy centers can be denoted as follows:

Root Chakra – C

Sacral Chakra – D

Solar Plexus Chakra – E

Heart Chakra – F

Throat Chakra – G

Third Eye Chakra – A

Crown Chakra – B

Chanting – The ancient practice of chanting has been part of the human experience since before we began recording our experiences as humans. We often associate chanting with religious or spiritual ceremonies and rituals. This is because of the power of chanting to help us focus, join together in fellowship with others, and change our vibrational energy. Of course, many people chant privately in their own personal meditation practice. You don’t even need to begin with recognizable chanting of words or songs. Allow your inner self to be expressed in any way you feel is right – trust your intuition. You can use the word OM to get started. As you chant, visualize the spinning of the chakras and the flow of energy. Allow yourself to relax, and don’t let yourself become distracted by thoughts. If a thought comes to mind while you are healing chakras with music, simply set it aside for later and return your focus to the sound.

Singing Bowls – Singing bowls are traditional instruments that make a pleasing, clear noise. They are often used in chanting or meditation to refine the focus and raise the vibrational energy. Other people choose to use a bell or other simple musical instrument to produce long, clear notes that they can listen to. When listening to this note, allow yourself to focus fully on the sound and listen as it fades. Balance your breathing as you do this and focus your meditation on the chakras, particularly if there is a particular chakra that you feel requires attention. Listen to your intuition; your body will guide your focus to where it is needed.

Various sound bowls and other instruments for use in sound bath

Sound Baths – There are many musicians who create chakra music. This music is often written and produced with the aim of providing the ideal background sound for meditation, or it can be used as a sound bath. A sound bath uses music to surround the body with sound completely. Notes of different frequencies may be repeated, and the effect is to help guide you into relaxation and meditation. Sound baths are an excellent way to help you reach a deeper state of meditation, bypassing all distractions, both internal and external. This is good for you in so many ways, but it is a precious opportunity in terms of clearing and realigning the chakras.

Singing – Many of the chakras play a role in self-expression. The throat chakra is especially connected with the voice. So whether you feel like you are not being heard or you find it difficult to express what is inside of you, blocked chakras may be either the cause of the problem or the result of the problem. It can feel like a vicious cycle. Singing with the intention of drawing positive energy into your body is a great practice, and it doesn’t matter whether you are a ‘good singer’ or not. One of the fundamentals of clearing the chakras and achieving balance and healing is to express yourself. Singing is a great way to start.

However, you choose to do it, healing chakras with music should always be a gentle, relaxing process that leaves you feeling healthy and well. If you want to find out more about music therapy, check out https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2922391/this study.
