Fat Metabolism is a complex process that is more than the calories in vs.: calories out equation that makes the process sound simple. There is a combination of enzymes, minerals, and hormones responsible for the fat metabolism process.
The fat metabolism process itself is more involved in its functions than you may understand it to be. Body fat has now deemed an ORGAN, and its purpose ranks as essential as with the liver or spleen.
According to an article in Chemical and Engineering News, “The first evidence that fat cells have a role beyond storing energy from excess food came from a strain of massively obese mutant mice. Before these mice, some researchers had suspected the cells were more than just a calorie cache.
But it wasn’t until 1994, after years of sleuthing, that Jeffrey M. Friedman of Rockefeller University found definitive proof of fat cells’ secret lives: peptide hormone named leptin.”
THE ROLE OF LEPTIN – A master dictator of fat metabolism
What is interesting about leptin is that it was the first fat metabolism hormone that seemed to have a function. The absence of it appears tied to metabolic disorders.
What the University of Pennsylvania found is that adipose tissue (fat cells) were not just cells.
Fat itself was an endocrine ORGAN. And just like any other organ, it communicates with other organs. Hormones are chemical messengers that communicate amongst the cells of your body. The hormones produced by fat cells release hormones that signal the regulation of many aspects of metabolism.
It seems that fat cells make small pieces of “genetic material called microRNAs. It is not precisely sure yet what the role of microRNA’s is, but we do know there is a lot of research around understanding its function.
ADIPONECTIN – A heavy hitter in fat metabolism
Adiponectin, another hormone involved in fat metabolism, is also a protein and even an “adipokine” heavily involved in glucose metabolism.
Adiponectin is produced inside fat cells but also in your muscles and your brain.
A newly discovered hormone secreted by fat cells called “resistin” may help deter type (2) diabetes and insulin resistance.
There are several essential hormones involved in fat metabolism, but the next one may be equally important.
HGH – The fountain of youth hormone
More talked about in the family of fat metabolism hormones might be HGH, GH, or human growth hormone. This hormone secretes from the pituitary but does play a role in fat metabolism.
Several clinical trials show that growth hormone makes the fat more available as a fuel source. Interestingly, each one of your fat cells has a GH receptor site.
When GH or HGH binds to a fat cell receptor, there is a process that triggers causing an enzymatic reaction. A reaction that helps break down fat.
HGH does the opposite of insulin. Insulin helps store fat in the fat cell. HGH helps the fat to release from fat cells. If we did not have growth hormones available to counteract the effects of insulin, fat cells expand more rapidly.
As more body fat is stored, your pituitary gland secrets LESS HGH. Carbohydrate dense foods consumed between your last meal and bedtime will REDUCE the secretion of HGH!
Carbohydrates require insulin to get into cells. Remember, insulin and HGH cannot exist simultaneously.
Hormones in opposition
When eating before bed, the action of insulin inhibits the activity of HGH as they oppose each other. The result is that HGH production slows down. With this knowledge, it makes sense to eat nothing after your last meal when the goal is to increase fat metabolism.
Scalar Light Fat Metabolism Program can offer support as you make conscious changes to your eating habits
The Scalar Light Fat Metabolism Program’s purpose is to provide the intelligence and instructions to your cells to begin to assemble natural chemicals inside each cell that serves to promote fat metabolism.
Various amino acids, enzymes, hormones, neurotransmitters, phospholipids, and vitamins included in the program daily.
